Business Controller to Husqvarna

Welcome to Husqvarna and a world of innovations. We are currently looking for a Business Controller to join our Europe Finance team within the Forest & Garden-division. In this role, you will act as a partner to the Global Research & Development (R&D) teams within the division, supporting, planning, and overseeing ongoing development projects. You will be part of a team of eight skilled, supportive and inclusive controller colleagues lead by Sara Thored, VP Finance, Business Unit Europe.

As a Business Controller for R&D, you will lead the monthly financial follow-up process and drive budgeting and forecasting activities. You’ll analyze financial data to support informed decision-making across our R&D management teams — including cost center reviews, project tracking, and investment evaluations or follow ups. You will also contribute to strategic planning within the R&D function and take an active role in finance-related projects. Your main mission is to help the business understand the financial implications of ongoing and planned initiatives ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to drive innovation and performance.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven and analytical individual with a background in finance, industrial engineering and management, or another relevant field. Experience from working in a large industrial company is highly valued, especially in roles focused on supporting business development and decision-making, rather than primarily on compliance and regulatory matters.

Ideally, you have some years of experience as a Business Controller or in a finance-related role with a strong emphasis on operational support. You are motivated by helping the business move forward and providing insightful analyses that support decision-making, particularly within R&D and product portfolio management.

To succeed in this role, you need to be highly analytical and structured, with a genuine interest in working with data and financial modeling. A significant part of your time will be spent in Excel – building reports and analyzing data – so we’re looking for someone who truly enjoys this type of work. Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems, as well as group consolidation tools, is a plus.

While the role is largely analytical and involves a lot of independent work, you will also be part of a close-knit team that collaborates regularly and interacts with various stakeholders across the organization – including project leaders and managers within our R&D function. You will also have the opportunity to be an integral part of one or more R&D management teams. It is important that you feel comfortable presenting your insights and interacting with colleagues across functions, even if much of your work is done behind the scenes.

Location & Work Setup

You’ll be based in Huskvarna, Sweden and we see great value in being physically present in the office at least three days a week. This role offers some flexibility, but being on site enables stronger collaboration and a better understanding of the business.
