Do you want to be part of the green transition to fossil-free energy?

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions in Kalmar Sweden, develops and manufactures plants that purify biogas to replace fossil energy in all applications where (fossil) natural gas is used today, both in gas and liquid form (LNG). We also work with development projects in carbon dioxide capture (CCS) and synthetic gas (P2X). Currently the business unit in Kalmar has 46 employees and good market prospects which means we need to grow. We are a small company within the larger Gas Solutions business area with headquarters in Asker, Norway, which in turn is part of the Wärtsilä corporation with headquarters in Finland.

We now need to further strengthen our team in Kalmar with one E&I Engineer.

What will you be doing?

As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will focus on these activities:

  • Participation in project execution and studies for Biogas gas plants onshore
  • Development of system design and preparation of engineering documentation
  • Specify equipment for purchase, technical evaluation of bids, review of vendor documentation and supplier follow-up
  • Ensure relevant technical information flows through other engineering disciplines
  • Prepare electrical documentations like el. Wiring diagrams, Instrument list, cable list etc.
  • Technical clarifications with customer, supplier, 3rd party
  • Participate in design reviews e.g. Hazop sessions, 3D model review etc.
  • Technical support for commissioning and start-up activities, participate in FATs at Suppliers facilities


You´ll shine in this role if you have several of these competences or experiences:

  • BSc/MSc in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience from Oil & Gas and/or process industry engineerin
  • Technical knowledge of electrical motors, VFD, MCC, el. Cabinets, pressure /temperature /flow /level instruments, fire and gas detection systems, ATEX regulation etc.
  • Willingness to travel if needed, occasional business trips
  • Ability to work in a multinational team
  • Experience in use of EPLAN (advantage but not a must)
  • New graduates as well as experienced are welcome to apply
  • Willing and open to learn
  • MS Office applications
  • Well organised
  • Fluent in English is required
  • Swedish is preferred
