Financial Controller

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant with strong analytical skills to be responsible for transaction level reconciliation processes, transactional controls and the analysis of large financial datasets.

This role will focus on the General Ledger (GL) impact of various transactions, particularly on the Balance Sheet and

Profit & Loss (P&L), and manage the impact and timing of P&L recognition for open items and related accruals.


We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical and data manipulation skills, and a proactive mindset for identifying discrepancies and delivering actionable business insights.


Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Open Transactions Management:

  • Assist in investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies in a timely and

accurate manner, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.

  • Perform regular analysis to understand the impact of open transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Take ownership of the analysis and resolution of old or long-outstanding open

transactions impacting the P&L.

  • Investigate the nature and history of these transactions and collaborate with

financial control to identify appropriate accounting treatment and timing of P&L

recognition.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather necessary information and

facilitate the closure or adjustment of these items.

  • Ensure that the P&L impact of these transactions is appropriately managed and

documented in accordance with accounting policies.

  • Recommend the need for accurate accruals for impact related to open

transactions and estimate P&L timing.

  • Assist with any monthly recurring reporting requirements.


2. Transactional Controls Ownership:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a framework of how the discrepancies for

known order flow issues will be identified and resolved.

  • Manage the process to initiate any large write-offs.
  • Monitor adherence to transactional controls and identify potential breaches or

areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with relevant departments (e.g., System support, Customer Service,

Fintech, FC and BC) to ensure understanding and compliance with transactional

control policies.

  • Actively collaborate with system support and other development teams around

new order flows and changes to existing setups and assist with the potential

impact to books.

3. Data Analysis and Business Insights:

  • Analyze large datasets transactions flowing through the reconciliation bucket to

identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

  • Develop and utilize data analysis techniques (e.g., trend analysis, variance

analysis, statistical analysis) to extract meaningful insights.

  • Identify opportunities for calibration optimization, or other data-driven decision

support.

  • Prepare clear and concise reports, visualizations, and presentations to

communicate data analysis findings and recommendations to the business.

  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and provide

valuable decision support.


Requirements

  • Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong

quantitative focus.

  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, with a significant focus on

reconciliations, GL analysis, and data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Proven experience in performing complex account reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel advanced

functions).

  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and extract meaningful

insights.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex

data findings clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-

functional teams.

  • Experience with D365 a plus.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a passion for leveraging data to

drive business value.
