Klättermusen was founded by a tightly knit band of local climbers in Umeå in 1975 and moved to the scenic mountain village of Åre in 2000. Initiated as a small DIY workshop for assembling parts and constructing tailored technical solutions to challenges encountered on the hill, Klättermusen grew into a business supplying outdoor enthusiasts with high-performance equipment in the 1980s.

Job Description:

As a Product Developer you will work in the product development team from prototype through the final stages of the creation process, to ensure our gear meets the highest standards in quality, durability, and attention to detail. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about textiles, functions, and the outdoors. We're looking for a hands-on team player with an eye for detail, quality and a proactive mindset, ready to take ownership and drive progress.

What you’ll do

• Review and evaluate samples to ensure they meet product specifications, perform fit evaluations (together with designer and pattern maker), update BOMs and measurement specs, and contribute to the creation and refinement of technical documentation.
• Maintain and manage accurate product data and documentation in the PLM system, ensuring traceability throughout development.
• Co-ordinate with suppliers and factories to gather information, request samples, and follow up on developments.
• The job includes travel to factories to ensure best practice and progress in development.
• Ensure quality and production issues are solved and implemented together with Service and Production teams.

What you have

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in garment product development, preferably with functional or outdoor-focused products.
• The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Garment Technology or Textile Product Development. We also welcome applicants with equivalent education from vocational schools or similar institutions.
• Experience working with technical fabrics, construction techniques, and production workflows.
• Good organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Practical knowledge of a PLM system.
• Experience working with or communicating with suppliers and production partners
• Business-level proficiency in written and oral English communication.
• To succeed in this role, you should be curious, detail-oriented, and solution-focused, with a strong ability to understand the purpose and intent behind each product.
